How we invest

At PRF we see our entire asset-base as a tool for change and, beyond traditional grant making, consider all the ways we can use our assets to create impact. This ‘Total Impact Approach’ ensures grants, impact investments, and investments made through our endowment are sustainably invested such that they are in step with, or at minimum do not contravene, our purpose.

Our investment strategy

We invest to fund our shared goals. Our capital is invested in ways that balance both impact and financial returns.

Impact First Fund

Our $60m evergreen fund is for impact investments aligned with PRF’s shared goals that prioritise positive impact over financial returns. Alongside the investments we provide targeted grants to help build and strengthen the impact investing market in Australia.

Endowment Impact Fund

We have allocated 20% of our available endowment to establish the Endowment Impact Fund which invests in impact funds that deliver measurable social and environmental benefits, while achieving strong financial returns.

Sustainable investing

Our Investment Policy Statement places Impact Objectives on the same level as our Financial Objectives. This means that every investment decision reflects our commitment to both creating positive change and achieving strong financial returns, never prioritising one at the expense of the other.

Sustainable investing

We embed responsible investing principles in every aspect of our investment portfolios through a series of negative and positive screens. We’re committed to transparency about where our money is invested and publish a Sustainable Investment Report annually.
